Master’s students in GIS from Bayero University Kano, accompanied by Dr. Mansur from the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences, visited the Agency’s Territorial Office in Kano for a field visit.
The objective of the field visit was to provide valuable learning opportunities for the Master’s students, allowing them to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
During the visit, the students received presentations on:
■ Harnessing GIS for Effective Disaster Management
■ Overview of NEMA’s Mandate, Functions, and Organizational Structure
■ NEMA’s Roles in Disaster Preparedness, Response, Recovery, and Mitigation
■The role of Search and Rescue as well as practical demonstration on uses of tools and equipments.
