NEMA, SOO ASSESS RAINSTORM IN GWADABAWA & ILLELA LGA, SOKOTO STATE

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Sokoto Operation Office has conducted assessment in communities affected by rainstorm in Gwadabawa and Illela Local Government Areas of Sokoto State.

The rainstorm that occured across communities caused destruction and damages to several houses. Rooftops were blown off and walls fallen as well as some houses completely collapsed, especially the ones built with clay.

Though no death recorded, some community members sustained some levels of injuries.

While some affected persons have since partially rehabilitated their structures to sustain their lives, others are still taking shelter with friends and relatives. This is due to the magnitude of the damage to their houses.
