NEMA Owerri Operations Office Responds to Road Crash
On the night of May 18, 2024, a tragic road crash occurred at the busy Imo State University (IMSU) junction along Okigwe-Owerri road. In response, the NEMA Owerri Operations Office Emergency Response Team , along with other stakeholders, promptly attended to the scene. A fully loaded truck, suffering brake failure, lost control and collided with several mini buses and passengers. The accident resulted in fatality of about 10 individuals, while others sustained varying degrees of injuries and were transported to FMC Owerri. The debris was cleared, restoring vehicular movement.
