NEMA Provides Relief to Windstorm and Fire Victims in Itas Gadau, Bauchi State

On June 12, 2025, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), through its Gombe Operations Office, distributed relief materials to households affected by recent windstorm and fire disasters in Itas Gadau Federal Constituency, Bauchi State.

The intervention is part of NEMA’s core mission to deliver timely humanitarian support to communities impacted by disasters across Nigeria.

Representing the Head of Operations, Ummuna Ahmed, NEMA’s Technical Officer Abubakar Nafi’u extended sympathy to the victims and reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to disaster response. He praised the resilience of the Itas Gadau people and highlighted the need for early warning systems, preparedness, and community-led risk reduction efforts.

Officials from the local government, community leaders, and a representative of the constituency’s lawmaker appreciated NEMA’s quick action and stressed the importance of continued collaboration to build disaster-resilient communities.

Grateful beneficiaries thanked the federal government and called for increased preventive measures to reduce future disaster risks.
