In continuation of the humanitarian relief assistance to victims of insurgency , the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) today distributed a large consignment of relief items to about 12, 000 persons taking refuge in two camps in Maiduguri following their recent displacement from Bama, Kawuri and Damboa.
The camps are located at the NYSC Orientation camp and Yerwa Government Girls Secondary School Maiduguri and were open to provide temporary shelter for the displaced persons. Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency Muhammad Sani Sidi said at the presentation of the relief items that the Federal Government was concerned about the condition of the displaced persons and committed to doing everything possible to ease their plights. He said the choose of the two camps was based on the facilities and security available.
