A team from the World Food Programme (WFP) Nigeria led by Head of Programmes of the Office Mr Serigne Mbacke Loum today paid a courtesy visit to the Director General NEMA Mustapha Habib Ahmed at the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
Mr Loum, who led the team by standing in for the Head of WFP Nigeria/Country Director, briefed the DG NEMA on the ongoing Shock Response Social Protection programme of the WFP, which he said will benefit some staff of NEMA in enhancing their capacities.
He said that the visit was also aimed at strengthening existing collaboration between WFP and NEMA and appreciated the DG NEMA and his management for sustaining the cordial working relationship.
Responding, the DG NEMA Mustapha Habib Ahmed appreciated the WFP team for the visit. He thanked the UN agency for the various supports being rendered to NEMA.
He assured the willingness of NEMA to always collaborate with the WFP in any aspects of disaster management.
The DGNEMA was joined by Directors of the Agency in receiving the WFP team and discussing about how to enhance collaboration between the two organisations.
