The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has successfully distributed relief materials to victims of a recent windstorm disaster in Kojoli and Kemsi communities, Jada Local Government Area, Adamawa State.
This initiative followed a comprehensive assessment conducted by the NEMA and ADSEMA teams in April 2024. The relief materials were approved by Mrs. Zubaida Umar, Director General of NEMA, to mitigate the impact of the windstorm disaster.
On August 10, 2024, the distribution team, led by staff from the NEMA Yola Operations Office in collaboration with the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA), was deployed to the affected communities.
In his speech, Mr. Giwa Kurutsi, representing DG NEMA Mrs. Zubaida Umar, emphasized the importance of utilizing the relief items judiciously to alleviate the effects of the disaster. The distribution was successfully carried out at two centers in the Kojoli and Kemsi communities with the support of the local community leader, concluding around 5 p.m.
