NEMA ORGANISES A ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON WASTE MANAGEMENT AND FLOOD PREPAREDNESS FOR STAKEHOLDERS IN GOMBE STATE

While the country witnesses the commencement of this year’s rainy season, the negative effects of the onset of heavy downpours into communities including windstorms, floodings and the spread of communicable diseases cannot be over emphasized. It is against this background that NEMA Gombe operations office GOO Organized a one day workshop for critical stakeholders on flood preparedness and proper waste management.

Stakeholders at the workshop includes: Gombe state Environmental Protection Agency(GOSEPA),State ministry of Environment, Ministry of Health, Selected Community leaders,Faith based Organisations, Nigerian Redcross society, flood prone local government chairmen amongst others.The sensitization campaign took place at Mallam sidi, Kwami local government area of Gombe state.
