
The NEMA Jos Operations Office organized a one-day workshop focused on coordination, awareness, and response to tanker fire hazards. Declared open by the Head of Operations, Mr. Adebiyi Razaq, the event aimed to address the increasing risks of tanker fire incidents, especially during the dry season.The workshop brought together key stakeholders including emergency responders, law enforcement agencies, transport unions, tanker drivers, and community leaders to promote disaster risk reduction, fire safety practices, and effective response strategies. Participants were encouraged to share ideas, identify gaps, and strengthen collaboration.Presentations were delivered by the Federal Road Safety Commission, Nigerian Red Cross Society, and the Federal Fire Service. The event took place at the Community and Social Development Agency, Rayfield, Jos, Plateau State.
