The gas explosion at Oguns Street, Balogun Busstop, Iju Ishaga, Lagos state on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, has been successfully controlled by the Lagos State Fire Service. The incident, which occurred at a gas company, resulted in the damage of approximately 50 shops in 2 rows. Both the Fire Service and security agencies are currently conducting investigations to determine the cause of the explosion. Additionally, a related fire incident in Oke Afa, Ejigbo, has been extinguished. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries reported in either of the two incidents.
