The NEMA Enugu Operations Office has retrained NYSC Emergency Management Vanguards at the Enugu East Local Government Secretariat on flood disaster management, fire prevention, and basic first aid.
The training, conducted in line with the 2025 Seasonal Climate Prediction and Annual Flood Outlook, aimed to build local capacity for early warning, flood response, fire prevention, and first aid. NEMA officers delivered presentations on flood risk management, climate resilience, and emergency medical care.
In his remarks, EMV President Mr. Daniel Monday thanked NEMA for its ongoing support and highlighted the group’s recent sensitization efforts, including a market campaign and an awareness program at Modern Ideal College. The training featured practical demonstrations on using fire extinguishers and understanding equipment in the MICU ambulance.
