DG NEMA attended the graduation ceremony of Operation Safe Corridor

The Director General of NEMA, represented by the Director of Search and Rescue (DSAR), Air Commodore Abang Kenneth Oyong, attended the graduation ceremony of Operation Safe Corridor and officially handed over relief materials to former Boko Haram combatants at the Deradicalization, Rehabilitation, and Reintegration (DRR) Camp in Mallam Sidi, Kwami LGA, Gombe State.The graduands have been at the camp since 2023, undergoing moral reorientation and vocational training.The relief materials, which included both food and non-food items, were presented to the Camp Commandant, Col. A.A. Johnson, by the DSAR in the presence of NEMA GOO staff, representatives of the governors of Gombe, Kebbi, Borno, Yobe, and Katsina States, as well as other key stakeholders, security agencies, and members of the media.Speaking on behalf of the DG NEMA, the DSAR emphasized that the relief items were provided as part of the agency’s support for the ongoing rehabilitation efforts.In his remarks, Camp Commandant Col. A.A. Johnson expressed gratitude to the DG NEMA and assured that the materials would be utilized responsibly.The event, held on April 18, 2025, was attended by top government officials from neighboring states, traditional rulers, and other dignitaries.
