The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Kano Operations Office, conducted a capacity-building training for NYSC corps members serving under the NEMA Emergency Management Vanguards (EMVs) Community Development Service (CDS) group in Kumbotso Local Government Area.
The training focused on strengthening the corps members’ knowledge and skills in disaster management, particularly as it relates to their roles during community service.
In his remarks, the Head of Operations, Dr. Nura Abdullahi, encouraged the vanguards to remain open-minded and committed to learning, noting that the knowledge gained should be cascaded to the communities where they serve.
The training covered key areas including:
1. Overview of Disaster Management
2. Disaster Management and the Roles of NEMA/NYSC EMVs
Participants were highly engaged throughout the sessions.
