VICE PRESIDENT SHETTIMA VISIT NIGER STATE AS NEMA DELIVER RELIEF ITEMS TO IDPs IN STATE

The Vice President, His Excellency Sen Kashim Shettima led the Federal Government delegation to Minna, Niger State to commiserate with the Government and People of Niger State over the unfortunate incidents of insecurity, flood and recent road accident involving tanker explosion which claimed over 60 lives.

The delegation also visited Internally Displaced Persons camp where the Vice President flagged off distribution of relief items approved by the Federal Government and delivered by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

The condolence and sympathy messages of the President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu were conveyed by the Vice President who also reaffirmed the support of the Federal Government’s support and commitment to address security challenges in the country, including Niger State.

At the camp, the DG NEMA Zubaida Umar officially presented the relief items, before the flag off distribution by the Vice President.

The State Governor,

Farmer Umar Bago appreciated President Tinubu and Vice President Shetima for the concern. He also thanked the Federal Government and NEMA for the kind gesture in coming to support the plight of displaced persons.

Others of the delegation were the Chairman of Nigerian Governors Forum who is the Governor of Kwara State, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President in the Office of the Vice President, the Hon Ministers of Information and National Orientation, Minister of State Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security as well the Director General NEMA.

Items presented to the State Government for distribution to the IDPs by DG NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar as approved by President Tinubu consists of:

1. Rice

2. Maize

3. Veg. Oil

4. Seasoning cubes –

5. Salt

6. Mattresses

7. Toilet Soap

8. Detergent

9. Blankets
