The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, today received the Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare, who paid a courtesy visit to the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
Governor Lawal said his visit was to convey appreciation on behalf of the government and people of Zamfara State for the Federal Government’s interventions through NEMA in response to disasters that have affected the state.
He also appealed for sustained and additional support to strengthen relief and recovery efforts for disaster-impacted persons in Zamfara.
Responding, the Director General Mrs Zubaida Umar reaffirmed NEMA’s unwavering commitment to collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including state governments, in advancing efficient disaster preparedness, response, and recovery across the country.
She assured that the Agency would continue to work closely with Zamfara State and other partners to enhance disaster resilience, recovery, and the livelihoods of affected communities.
