The Ekiti Operations Office organized a stakeholders consultative meeting on Fire Preparedness, Mitigation and Response in Akure Ondo State. In his opening speech, the Director General of NEMA, *Mustapha Ahmed Habib* who was represented by the Head of Ekiti Operations Office, *Mr Kadiri Olanrewaju* said that as we are approaching the dry season which is always associated with some disasters of which fire disaster is prevalent, it is therefore necessary to bring together stakeholders in Ondo State to monitor the state of Preparedness to disaster and also call for a collective action towards sensitising the people of Ondo State through each organization’s activities.
The Representative of the Market Women Association highlighted that though series of sensitization and awareness campaign had been going on the various markets in Ondo State however new excerpts from the meeting would be cascaded to all their members.
All the participants were tasked with the responsibilities of cascading the information to everyone around them.
