The Ag. Head, NEMA Owerri Operations Office , Mr. Nnaji Ifeanyi led other staff together with the Imo SEMA officials for the FLAGG-OFF and direct distribution of relief materials donated by the Federal Government through NEMA.
Mr. Nnaji who represented the Director General of NEMA, Mustapha Habib Ahmed during the exercise told the beneficiaries that the materials is part of federal government’s gesture in assuaging the impacts of the flood and windstorm disasters on their livelihood but not to compensate their losses.
He further charged them to be adherants of disaster risk reduction in their various communities
Relief items distributed includes food items, non-food items and building materials.
