NEMA CONDUCTS ASSESSMENT OF RAINSTORM/FLOOD DISASTER IN ORELOPE LGA Of OYO STATE

The National Emergency Management Agency NEMA, Ibadan Operations Office carried out an on the-spot assessment of rainstorm/flood disaster in Orelope LGA Of Oyo State to evaluate the level of damage caused by the disaster.

The joint assessment was conducted in Igboho on Tuesday 12th August, 2025 in collaboration with key stakeholders including Oyo State Emergency Management Agency, Local Government officials and representative of the affected communities.

The incident affected three (3) communities namely; Modeke, Obaago and Bonni, causing a significant damage to residential houses, road network, farmlands and means of livelihood of the residents.

The asst. Head of Operations,Mr Olanrewaju Kazeem who led the team expressed deep sympathy on behalf of the office to the affected persons and urge the community members to embrace Disaster Risk management in their domain.
