The centre for Peace and Development Studies, UNIMAID, on the 24th of November, 2014, visited the NEMA Headquarters for the purpose of learning disaster management, conflict resolution and the management of Internally Displaced Persons, outside of the classroom walls.
The Deputy Director of Planning, NEMA, Dr Emenike Umesi briefed the students and some of the administrative staff of the University who were in attendance, on the establishment and the mandate of the National Emergency Management Agency, dwelling on the relief functions of NEMA and the coordination of disaster, which is part of the purpose of their visit
