Following a distress alert, Emergency Response Team of NEMA Lagos Territorial Office LTO responded to a partial building collapse at No. 70, Adetola road, Aguda, Surulere, Lagos on the 22nd of May, 2024. The incident which occurred at 3am affected a distressed 2 storey residential building. The building was empty at the time of the collapse because some residents noticed vibrations and immediately vacated it yesterday. No life was lost and no injury sustained.
Response agencies at the Incident Scene include NEMA, LASEMA, the Nigeria Police, NSCDC, Lagos State Neighbourhood Watch, State Fire Service and the Lagos State Building Control Agency.
