The Zonal Director of the North East Zone of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr. Sulaiman Yakubu led a delegation from the NEMA Yola Operations Office, including the Head of Operations, Mr. Ladan Ayuba, on an official working visit to Taraba State.
During the visit, Mr. Yakubu Suleiman Abdullahi, the Zonal Director, paid a courtesy call and visited the Taraba State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The primary objective of the visit was to discuss preparations for the National Grain Distribution, with a specific focus on ensuring public safety and effective monitoring of compliance with the deployment of security personnel to protect NEMA/SEMA facilities in preparation for the upcoming grain distribution nationwide.
Additionally, the Zonal Director conducted an inspection of the security situation at the NEMA/SEMA warehouse and established a joint Task Force Committee comprising personnel from the Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (TSEMA), the Nigerian Army, Police, NSCDC, and Department of State Services (DSS) to ensure comprehensive security coverage during the operational exercise.
