NEMA South South in collaboration with members of the NEMA/EMVs CDS Group of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Obio/Akpor LGA of Rivers State carried out sensitization and awareness campaign against flood and fire disasters for women in Rumuokoro Market.
The event which was led by Mr. Chidiebere Ogundu (CDRRO) of the zone centred the campaigns on effective waste management practices to prevent flooding in the market and its environs.
The campaign also sensitized the market women on fire safety and prevention.
On his part, the CDS President Unekwu Ubeh thanked NEMA for taking them through the exercise and expressed optimism that it will achieve the objective of the programme by mitigating flooding in the market.
