NEMA EKITI OPERATIONS OFFICE ORGANIZED A STAKEHOLDERS CONSULTATIVE MEETING ON PREPAREDNESS, MITIGATION AND RESPONSE TO ELECTORAL VIOLENCE AT ABCHA HALL, MINISTRY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT, OLD GOVERNOR’S OFFICE, ADO-EKITI, EKITI STATE ON WEDNESDAY 15TH FEBRUARY 2023.

As part of preparation ahead of the forthcoming general elections, the Ekiti Operations Office today Wednesday 15th February 2023 organized a stakeholders consultative meeting and awareness campaign on Preparedness and Mitigation of Electoral Violence in Ekiti State.
Declaring the workshop open, the Director General of NEMA, Mustapha Ahmed Habib who was ably represented by the Head of Ekiti Operations Office Mr Kadiri Olanrewaju said it is imperative to meet with stakeholders in order to come up with measures and machineries to be put in place so as to prevent as well as mitigate the impact of electoral Violence during the general elections also an opportunity to create a forum for a well coordinated Emergency Response Team to attend to Emergencies that may arise before, during and after elections.
The Representative from INEC Mr Austin Orogbu in a short submission stated that the Commission has established ICEL as regards election security as well as Risk Management Mechanism to identify black spots across the country and proffer security solutions to the identified risks.
The Representative of the Nigeria Police Force ACP Shehu Alao stated that the Police had carried out trainings of Officers that will participate in the election.
