NEMA Edo Operations Office distributed relief materials to victims of fire incident at the Custom (Hausa) Market in Oshimili North LGA, Delta State.
Representing the Director General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, Head of Operations Dahiru Yusuf, and Honourable Commissioner for Bureau of Special Duties, Mr. Terry Ejiro, who stood in for His Excellency Governor Sheriff Ibori, presented the relief items to the affected traders.
The Director General sympathized with the traders who lost their wares in the inferno, urging them to avoid illegal connections to electricity, which caused the fire. The Honourable Commissioner, on behalf of the Delta State Government, thanked NEMA for the relief materials, which would help alleviate the suffering of the traders and support their livelihoods. He also emphasized the importance of preventive measures to avoid future incidents.
The relief materials distributed included [Rice, Garri, vegetable oil, tomatoe paste and salt]. This effort demonstrates NEMA’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities affected by disasters.
