NEMA TRAINS FINAL YEAR MEDICAL STUDENTS ON DISASTER MANAGEMENT

The National Emergency Management Agency, North Central Zonal Office, in collaboration with the department of Community Medicine, Jos University Teaching Hospital(JUTH) had a two-day workshop on the 12th and 13th of July, 2023 where the final year medical students numbering 44 of them, were introduced to the Concept of Disaster Management which encompasses other modules such as Early Warning System, Camp management, Contingency plans etc.
The Zonal office had been in working collaboration with the Community Medicine department since 2017 and have successfully trained over 300 Medical Personnel including Senior Resident Doctors since then.
Other areas of collaboration include volunteering at the annual Operation Eagle eye, work partnership during emergencies such as the COVID-19 etc.
The management of the Community Medicine department, however expressed their profound gratitude for the immense contribution of the Zonal office of NEMA
