On June 23, 2024, NEMA, Director General Zubaida Umar represented by zonal coordinator South East Mrs. Ngozi Echeazu, distributed relief items to flood-affected communities in Ezeagu LGA, Enugu State. The event, held at Imezi Owa village, was conducted by NEMA and Enugu SEMA officials. Community leader PG Onwurah thanked the agencies for their support while promising to ensure security for the distribution. Enugu SEMA’s Executive Secretary, Mrs. Chinasa Mbah, promised fair and transparent distribution. Mrs. Echeazu emphasized the relief’s purpose to ease difficulties, stressing that items must not be sold. The event concluded with community leader Chief Jude Umeh expressing gratitude for the life-saving support.
