Following the unfortunate attacks on some communities in Bokkos and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State, the Director General National Emergency Management Agency Mustapha Habib Ahmed has deployed a team of the Agency to conduct rapid assessment of the situation and provide immediate supports to families of those that lost their lives, injured persons and people that have been displaced by the incidents.
The NEMA rapid response team comprised of Directors from headquarters and staff from North Central Zone have visited some of the affected communities in the two Local Government Areas as well as Jos University Teaching Hospital where most of the injured persons are being treated.
The NEMA team carried out the assessment along with the State Government officials led by the Deputy Governor and Executive Secretary of Plateau State Emergency Management Agency.
The Director General NEMA Mustapha Habib Ahmed who was represented by the Deputy Director Operations Mr Bashir Idris Garga expressed sadness over the unfortunate incident and commiserated with the Government and people of the state. He said NEMA has provided food and humanitarian items that will be distributed to provide immediate succor to the affected persons and medicaments to support treatment of the injured persons.
