NEMA COMMENCE THE DISTRIBUTION OF RELIEF MATERIALS TO VICTIM’S OF FLOOD AND FARMERS/ HERDERS CONFLICT IN BOKKOS LGA OF PLATEAU STATE

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) North Central Zonal Office has commenced the distribution of relief materials to the victim’s of 2022 flood , farmers/herders conflict victims and the most the vulnerable in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Director General of the Agency Alh. Mustapha Habib, the North Central zonal Coordinator Mr.Eugene Nyelong said the items were meant to cushion the effect of the disasters. Eugene added further that the zonal office alongside the State Emergency Management Agency {PLASEMA} have devised a means to ensure the items get to the beneficiaries.

Receiving the items on behalf of the victims, the Hon. Commissioner of higher education expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for the items meant for the victims of the Local government and the State in general.

Earlier, the team paid a courtesy visit to the district head of Bokkos, M.H Adonchin JP (SAF of Bokkos) where he also expressed his gratitude to the Federal Government for coming to assist the
victims of the Local government and assured the team that only the victims will benefit from the items .

In a separate remarks, the executive Chairman of the Local government Mr. Joseph Guluwa thanked the agency for always coming to the aid of the Local government whenever the need arises .

Present at the flag off of the distribution were: community leaders from the affected communities, the State Emergency Management Agency management agency, the National Orientation Agency (NOA), the security agencies among others.

The relief materials worth millions of naira included food and non_food items.
