The NYSC orientation program in Paikoro, Niger state, brought together various organizations, including the Police, NDLEA, Customs, Immigration, Ministry of Youth & Sports, Nigeria Air Force, Fire Service, State Security service, Local Government Chairmen, FRSC, and NEMA among others.
At the swearing-in ceremony for the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Corps members, Mrs. Abdulwahab Olayinka, State Coordinator of NYSC Niger State emphasized the Orientation Course’s objectives, including skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, and national unity. The importance of the oath of allegiance, adherence to NYSC rules, and avoiding social vices like cultism and fake news on social media were highlighted. The Coordinator encouraged self-employment through the SAED program.
The Chief Judge of Niger State, Justice Halima Abdulmalik ably represented by Justice Maria administered the oath of allegiance, symbolizing commitment to service.
Additionally, the Governor of Niger State, represented by the Ministry of Sports, encouraged Corps members to prioritize good citizenship, security awareness, responsible social media usage, and entrepreneurship.
The program acknowledged all stakeholders support and the Governor’s commitment to camp improvements.
The program ended with the corp members charged to move forward with the spirit of dedication, enthusiasm, and unity. They should see the service year as a transformative chapter in their lives and were further encouraged to make the best use of the service year by leaving good footprints not just on the communities they are deployed to but the state at large.
