NEMA, Sokoto Operations Office conducted an assessment exercise of a Boat mishap incident that occurred in Dandeji Village of Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The accident which occurred on Tuesday 9th May, 2023 involved 25 persons. 15 persons who are basically girls lost their lives while 10 were rescued by local community divers who were alerted.
Head of Operations, who was represented by Head, Search and Rescue Unit, Mr. Aminu S. Ambursa led the NEMA team in conjunction with the representatives of Sokoto State Emergency Management Agency, Nigeria Police Force, village head, community members as well as the media.
