NEMA North West zone NWZ staff in collaboration with SEMA and other delegated authorities conducted assessment of flood disaster in about 10 Communities affected by the incident across Katsina Central, Katsina state.
The assessment team discovered that 9 people died and no fewer than 74 others sustained various degrees of injuries, also due to the downpour and strong wind, many buildings were destroyed.
The flooding incidence were recorded in an interval of a month with the first in late August and the second incident at end of September, 2024.
Affected communities are Kofar sauri, Kukar gesa, Tudun Yar lida, Saulawa, Sabuwar Unguwa, Kofar Kaura, others are Rahamawa, Masanawa, Kofar marusa and Tudun katsira all within Katsina Central, Katsina.
