NEMA Sokoto Operations Office, SOO assesses communities affected by flood in Gada Local Government Area of Sokoto State. Some of the communities affected include Dantudu, Balakozo, Gidan-tudu and Tsitse communities.
The flood which occurred last week Wednesday 17th July 2024 affected about 1,664 persons. Many people were displaced due to the intrusion of the flood waters into their houses. Most of the houses made with clay collapsed.
The assessment team also reported that livestock that include sheep and goats were also lost in the flood with many of them still missing.
The incident also submerged farmlands, affecting about 779 hectares.
