Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sidi Director General NEMA was appointed September 21, 2010.
Prior to the appointment, he was Commissioner of Culture and Tourism in Kaduna state. He had also served as the state commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources and Commissioner for Works and Transport. As member of the state executive council, he was at various times assigned the special responsibilities of supervising the Ministries of Finance, Lands and Health.
His wealth of experience in the public service included as former Special Adviser to the Minister of Finance and Senior Manager in the former National Electric Power Authority (NEPA). He chaired the Kaduna State Committees on decongestion of Kaduna metropolis; removal of carcasses in public places; decongestion of the federal high ways particularly in Tafa and Mararaban Jos; and the cleaning and clearing of garbage in Zaria.
Alhaji Sidi holds two master degrees in Business Administration (MBA) and International Affairs and Diplomacy (MIAD) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He is a member of the Institute of Civil Protection and Emergency Management (ICPEM), International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM), and The International Emergency Management Society (TIEMS).He has received several commendation and awards including that from the Institute of Corporate Administration and the Conference on Disaster, Safety and Security Management.
He is married with children.
