National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Edo Operations Office alongside Delta State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and local officials, has conducted a comprehensive flood disaster assessment in 5 local government areas (LGAs) in Delta State, including Ughelli North, Patani, Isoko North, Isoko South, and Ndokwa East.
The team held meetings with the Chairman of Ughelli North LGA, Barr. Jaro Egbo, who briefed the team on the most impacted communities, Uwheru an Evreni. He solicited assistance to the affected persons.
While at Patani LGA, the team was received by the Council Secretary, who also appealed for relief intervention for the affected communities.
This assessment aims to evaluate the impact of recent flooding in the communities, identify the affected communities, and determine measures and resources needed for recovery. The collaborative effort underscores the commitment of state and federal agencies to address the challenges posed by flood disasters and to support affected populations effectively.
