NEMA, Sokoto Operations Office SOO Team assess flood incidences that affected lots of communities across Anka and Talata-mafara Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.
The flood which started on the 6th of August, continued through the night of 15th to 16th of August, 2024. Victims of the incident said the flood came as a result of the huge amount of rainfall.
Thousands of people were affected across these Local Government Areas with scores sustaining injuries. While some of them partially rehabilitated their structures to sustain their lives, others moved in to take cover with relatives and neighbours.
The flood destroyed many houses and rendered many homeless. NEMA conducted the assessment in the company of ZEMA and Local Government representatives.
