ASSESSMENT OF FLOOD DISASTER IN ARGUNGU AND AUGIE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS OF KEBBI STATE

The head of Sokoto Operations Office led other members of staff for an assessment of flood disaster that ravaged many communities in Argungu and Augie local government areas of Kebbi State.

The Flood which occurred as a result of heavy downpour occurred on Saturday 3 August, 2024 rendered many hundredths homeless.

The communities affected in Argungu include; Kamfani Area and Argungu town whereas, the affected villages in Augie are; Tigi, Bubuche and Biyawa.

No lost of life is recorded during the incident, but more than 22 people were seriously injured,

Many Farmlands were submerged with crops washed away by the ravaging flood many animals were lost and over a thausand houses were submerged with over 70%destroyed completely.
