capacity building workshop of staff on utilisation of upgraded Geographic Information System (GIS) facilities in NEMA has ended today.
The Director General NEMA Mustapha Habib Ahmed was represented by the Director Planning Research and Forecasting Dr Onimode Bandele Abdullahi in declaring closed the training workshop.
In a remark, he urged the staff to make good use of knowledge gained to maximise the benefits of the GIS facilities.
The training was facilitated by ALMAT Engineering Limited and focuses on enhancing the skills of NEMA GIS unit staff in utilizing the upgraded Geographic Information System Lab. The program will encompass various areas such as Google Engine, Disaster Risk area mapping, 3D mapping, Virtual Reality, photogrammetry, and LIDAR Data Processing.
Staff that benefited from the training appreciated the management for the opportunity and promised to make good use of the knowledge gained for progress of the Agency.
