The UNICEF Regional Director for West and Central Africa Mr Manuel Fontaine today visited the headquarters of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The Regional Director was accompanied by the Country Representative of UNICEF Ms Jean Gough and Mr Dominic Stolarow, and received by the Director General of NEMA Muhammad Sani Sidi.
Mr. Fontaine, while sharing his experience from a recent visit to Borno State commended NEMA for its on-going humanitarian supports to theIDPs in Borno and other states. He assured the commitment of the UNICEF to collaborate with the Agency to further assist the displaced persons especially in the areas of food and nutrition, child education and care for the unaccompanied children.
The Director General of NEMA, Muhammad Sani Sidi, appreciated the continuous interest and cooperation of the UNICEF to support the IDPs.
