The Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, has requested the partnership of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to operationalise schools established at the Rehabilitation Scheme for Persons Impacted by Conflict (RSPIC) sites across seven states.
She made the request during a visit to UBEC headquarters in Abuja on 11th February, 2026, noting that the RSPIC project incorporated educational facilities to address the learning needs of children in resettled communities.
She emphasised the need for UBEC’s partnership in providing the necessary support to ensure the schools become fully functional.
Responding, the Executive Secretary of UBEC, Dr. Aisha Garba, assured NEMA of the Commission’s commitment to collaborate in line with its mandate to promote basic education nationwide.
