Sequel to the assumption of duty of the new Director-General (DG), Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sidi, on 4th October 2010, the Office of the SADG facilitated and coordinated the courtesy visits of the new DG to several key stakeholders. During these visits, the DG underscored the crucial role of each stakeholder in disaster management and solicited for their cooperation and collaboration. He visited the following stakeholders:

The Office of the SADG facilitated the DG’s visit to several states devastated by flood disaster across Nigeria including, Nasarawa, Sokoto, Lagos, Ogun, Yobe, Kogi and Bayelsa states. Relief materials were distributed to the various affected states during the tours. The DG used the opportunity of these tours to commiserate with the people and government of the affected states and stressed the need for all states to establish or firm up State Emergency Management Agencies (SEMAs) in order to effectively manage disasters. He was accompanied to the various states by some members of management staff.
