A joint assessment team from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Zamfara State Emergency Management Agency (ZEMA) has conducted an evaluation of the windstorm incident that struck Bungudu and Maru Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.

The windstorm, which occurred on Thursday, 15th May 2025, affected nine communities: Hayin-Gebe, Sabon Fegi, Furfuri, Sabon Gari Furfuri, FGGC, Mamula/Yarkuka, Kofar Yamma, Rawuya, and Baila.

Approximately 300 houses were damaged, with reports of collapsed walls and fences, blown-off rooftops, and disruptions to public facilities. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were recorded.
