National Emergency Management Agency NEMA Gombe Operations Office recently organized a sensitization program focused on disaster risk reduction (DRR) for the DRR Club at Government Secondary School Science, Gombe. This initiative aimed to educate students on the importance of disaster preparedness, safety measures, and effective response strategies to minimize risks associated with natural and human-made disasters. Through interactive sessions, students learned about hazard identification, risk assessment, and community safety practices, empowering them to become advocates for disaster resilience within their school and local communities. This program is part of NEMA’s broader effort to build a culture of safety and preparedness across educational institutions in Gombe State.
