The NEMA Uyo Operations Office received a call from the EOC call centre in Abuja as well as an SOS call from the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency on the devastating flood that ravaged the two LGAs due to heavy rainfall on the 21st and 22nd of September 2024.
The flood affected Marina, Murray by Target, Target by Golden, Elijah Henshaw and Webber in Calabar South and Big Qua Town in Calabar Municipality
The flood destroyed household properties, economic activities, goods and services, farmlands and led to the collapse of fences.
