
The Director of Search and Rescue, Air Commodore A. K. Oyong, embarked on a working visit to key locations where the Agency maintains critical assets like the Emergency Response Bays ERAB around Abuja FCT.
Accompanied by two senior staff from the Department, the visit aimed at obtaining firsthand information on the state of vehicles, equipment, and personnel readiness.
The Director’s tour included visits to the Lugbe Emergency Response and Ambulance Bay (ERAB), the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base, the Aerodrome at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, the Bill Clinton Boulevard ERAB, and the Abuja Operations Office. At each location, he interacted with staff, assessed available equipment, and encouraged personnel to remain committed and diligent in the discharge of their duties.
In addition, as part of his familiarization and inspection tour, the newly appointed Director of Search and Rescue also visited the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Abuja Operations Office, where he inspected search and rescue equipment and engaged with the team on operational readiness.
The visit underscores the Director’s commitment to enhancing emergency response capabilities and ensuring that both human and material resources are in optimal condition to serve the nation effectively.
