In response to a distress call from Hon. (Sir) Mbakpone Okpe, the Executive Chairman of Tai L.G.A, and an appeal letter from Hon. Ngbar Bernad Baridammue, Member representing Tai State Constituency, along with an urgent request from Rivers’ state SEMA, a team led by Mr. Adebiyi Babatunde Razaq, the Zonal Coordinator of NEMA South-South Zonal Office, conducted an on-site assessment of the flood situation in Bunu, Sime, Koroma, Nonwa, Uedeme, Nukpo, Baraala, and Bareyira Communities in Tai Local Government Area, Rivers state. This devastating flood, caused by continuous rainfall and exacerbated by strong wind-storm, resulted in the destruction of numerous households, farmlands, and disrupted the daily activities of over 708 households, with more than 54 farmlands completely ruined.
