NEMA DG Joins Eminent Personalities at Launch of IOM–EU Supported Project for IDPs

The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, today joined eminent personalities at the official launch of the International Organization for Migration (IOM)–European Union supported Sustainable Urban Integration of Displaced Populations in Northern Nigeria / Support for Protection, Assistance and Durable Solutions Initiative. The high-level event was held at the United Nations Office in Abuja.

The ceremony brought together key stakeholders from government, international organizations, and development partners. Dignitaries in attendance included the Honourable Minister of Housing and Urban Development Architect Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, Honourable Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, the Governor of Benue State Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the United Nations Resident Coordinator for Nigeria Mr. Mohamed Malick Fall, and the Head of the European Union Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS
Ambassador Gautier Mignot among other esteemed personalities.

Also represented at the event were the Governors of Kano, Sokoto, Yobe, and Adamawa States.

The participation of the NEMA Director General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, underscored the Agency’s central role in humanitarian coordination and disaster recovery.
