Director General NEMA Mrs Zubaida Umar has assured the willingness of the Agency to collaborate with a Qatar based international humanitarian organization, Qatar Charity in the provision of supports to persons impacted by disasters.
However, she said NEMA would collaborate with the charity organization strictly in line with the mandates of the Agency.
The NEMA boss spoke during a familiarization meeting at the instance of the charity organization to formally introduce its activities in Nigeria to NEMA.
The Programs Manager of the Charity organization, Mr Assem Abu Alshaer introduced the objectives and activities of the humanitarian organization and sought the collaboration of NEMA. He said the organization would be delighted to align it’s relief intervention with the operational standard of NEMA to assist persons affected by flood and other disasters in the country.
NEMA and Qatar Charity agreed on the partnership whenever the need arises.
The Director General NEMA was joined in the meeting by the Ag Director Relief and Rehabilitation, Special Assistant to the Director General, Technical Assistant to the Director General and other senior officials. The meeting was held on Wednesday 18th Sept, 2024
