NEMA South West Operations Office received a distress call on Tanker Fire Accident in early morning hours of 4th March, 2025.
The Assessment Team led by Asst. Head of Operations together with OYSEMA and other relevant stakeholders arrived at the scene where Fire services Operations had been concluded.
The incident occurred around 5am at Total Energies fuel station by New garage Ibadan as a result of brake failure.
It was observed that two trucks a trailer laden with 33,000 litres PMS and a refuse dump trucks with small stalls by the road side was razed down by the fire.
Three (3) people were confirmed dead while the injured persons were taken to various hospital.
Stakeholders at the scene were NEMA, OYSEMA, OYOPMS, NUPENG, OYTRMA, FIRE SERVICE, FRSC , NSCDC ,NMDPRA AND BOVAS SAFETY.
