On the 19th of August , 2024, the NEMA Kano Territorial Office in collaboration with Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS), organized an Inter-School Quiz Competition on Solid Waste Management and Flood Preparedness Measures at Government Girls College Dala, Kano .
The Quiz Competition aimed at educating the students on proper waste disposal practices and the dangers of flooding in vulnerable areas. DG’s cups were awarded as prizes for the first, second, and third positions. In addition, the Dustbins, parkers, rakes, and brooms were also given to all the participating schools to use for handling solid waste in their environment.
