
In line with ongoing efforts to ensure the safe and dignified return of Nigerian migrants, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Kano Operations Office, took part in the reception of 296 Nigerian returnees from Agadez, Niger Republic.
The returnees were airlifted by Sky Mali flights and arrived at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) on Monday, 18th August 2025, in two batches:
Flight 1: 148 returnees – arrived at approximately 12:21 p.m.
Flight 2: 148 returnees – arrived at approximately 3:52 p.m.
Total: 296 returnees
Demographics of First Flight (148 returnees):
Male Adults: 56
Female Adults: 34
Male Children: 27
Female Children: 31
On arrival, the first batch of 148 returnees was duly profiled and documented before being transported to Badala Hotel for temporary accommodation. The second batch of 148 returnees will be profiled and documented on Tuesday, 19th August 2025.
The entire reception and profiling exercise were well-coordinated and successfully executed.
